The Festival reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any person violating the festival, facility, local, state, or federal laws or policies, or whose conduct is deemed illegal, disorderly or offensive by management. Performers, programs, dates and times are subject to change without notice. Persons entering the facility may be subjected to searches for weapons, contraband, professional cameras, video equipment and recording devices or other items which are expressly forbidden on the facility premises and are subject to confiscation. Patrons entering the facility are subject to having their image and/or likeness reproduced for promotional and/or publicity purposes in Festival photography and/or webcasts by the Festival, contractor or partner of the Festival.

FESTIVAL BOX OFFICE: 340 E. Saginaw St, Lansing, MI 48933 - open ONLY during the festival

The Festival Box Office is located outside the main gate at Saginaw Avenue and the Lansing River Trail in the northeast corner of Adado Riverfront Park. See below for box office hours during the week of the festival:

Wednesday, June 26th, 2019: 10am - 6pm

Thursday, June 27th, 2019: 10am - 9pm

Friday, June 28th, 2019: 10am - 9pm

Saturday, June 29th, 2019: 10am - 9pm

Sunday, June 30th, 2019: 10am - 9pm

Fans should use caution when considering purchases for any show they might attend at any event or concert.  Purchasing from a non-authorized person or outlet puts fans at risk of spending their hard earned cash for invalid tickets and credentials. The Common Ground Music Festival, in partnership with Eventbrite Ticketing, employs state-of-the-art scanning technology for festival entry & credentials. Only valid tickets will scan to authorize entry into the venue for an event. Lost or stolen tickets are deactivated and thus are not valid. Counterfeit tickets will also not scan. Purchasers who choose to buy from an unauthorized source, ticket broker or “scalper,” do so at their own risk.

What does my admission include? Do I need separate tickets for two bands on the same night?

Your admission includes all performances on each festival stage for the day. (Special matinee performances, if any, may not be included) 

Are there age limits?

Common Ground is an all ages event, while no minimum age is strictly enforced, we highly recommend parents accompany children under the age of 13.

You do not need your ID to enter the festival, but you MUST have your ID if you want to consume alcohol (21+). Driver's licenses, passports, military IDs, and government IDs with photo and birth date are all acceptable forms of ID.

Performance Disclaimer: Some performances may contain material that parents may find unsuitable for younger children. Many parents may want to watch these with their younger children. These performances may call for parental guidance as they may include: coarse language, or some suggestive dialogue.

This notice is an indicator voluntarily placed to better inform our guests, while also protecting the interest of artists in free expression and artistic creativity.

How much are tickets?

Please see the Tickets page for current ticket pricing.  Each type and its supply are limited.

Can I exchange my ticket(s) if I do not use them?

No refunds or exchanges including, but not limited to: failure of performer(s) to appear, changes in performer(s), or cancellation due to inclement weather.

Do you offer special pricing on tickets?

Sign up for our fan club the “Common Crew” HERE to receive special announcements and offers! Children under 6 are FREE when accompanied by a ticketed adult.

We do not offer student, military, or senior citizen discounts.

Ticketing Questions/Issues:

I purchased tickets but forgot to put in a discount code. Can I have the discount code applied after the purchase?

Unfortunately we are unable to do so due to limitations on our ticketing backend.

I ordered 2 tickets but only 1 is showing up…

Please make sure your email is correctly listed for BOTH tickets. If you received a ticket but are missing a second ticket, then it was most likely sent to the email address you included for the person(s) you bought tickets for. Please have them check their email address. Also, you will only receive one email, but that one email may contain both tickets by swiping on the screen that displays your ticket QR code.

How do I update my information on my ticket?

I mis-spelled my email when checking out, what do I do?

Please contact us at info@commongroundfest.com, include the full name that the order was purchased under along with correct email address, if you have an order ID that will help expedite the process.

Please allow for up to 5-7 business day for us to process wrong emails on tickets due to the amount of requests we may receive.

I purchased pre-sale tickets for a show through a website different from Eventbrite, are these tickets valid?

If you bought tickets through the artist’s official pre-sale, even if they weren’t through Eventbrite, then yes they are valid. If you haven’t received instructions on how to receive/use those tickets, please contact the company that was holding the artist’s pre-sale.

Am I allowed to bring a backpack or purse into the Festival?

To provide a safer environment, Common Ground Music Festival has implemented a safe bag policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the festival grounds. The type of bag outlined below are those bags that are permissible:

  • Bags made of clear plastic, clear vinyl or clear PVC, which do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" in size.

  • One gallon (or smaller) clear ziplock bag.

  • Small clutch bags, 6" x 6" in size with or without a handle or shoulder strap is allowed.

  • Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis for medically required items during proper inspection at the entry line marked for inspection.

  • Chair bags are permissible. Chair must be removed from bag prior to inspection and entry.

PROHIBITED bags include, but are not limited to: purses larger than clutch bags, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than permissible size. Common Ground Music Festival reserves the right to alter carry-in policies at any time. Currently, the items that CANNOT be brought into the Festival include, but are not limited to:

  • Bags that do no comply to the clear bag policy listed above

  • Other carry-ins

  • Oversized umbrellas (golf umbrellas) or umbrellas with a pointed and/or metal tip

  • Outside food or beverages

  • Cans or glass bottles

  • Alcohol, Contraband

  • Pets (except service animals)

  • Selfie/GoPro sticks

  • Video equipment

  • Professional cameras

  • Recording devices

  • Laser pointers

  • Skateboards

  • Inline skates

  • Coaster wagons

  • Kites, Frisbees

  • Picnic baskets

  • Weapons of any kind

Can I bring lawn chairs?

Yes. We recommend the popular "bag" chairs, however, your "bag" chair is also subject to being searched. You will be asked to place the front legs of your chair on the lines we paint on the grass for your convenience. This keeps the Festival seating organized, safe and enjoyable. We ask that you do NOT bring high back lawn chairs as they obstruct the view of your neighbors.

Can I bring a camera to the Festival?

Non-professional camera’s and cell & smart phones are allowed in the venue. No other audio/video recording devices are allowed. The Common Ground Festival defines professional cameras to be anything with a removable lens.

Can I bring food or drink into the Festival grounds?

No outside beverages or food of any kind is allowed. Once inside the Festival, you can purchase and drink from a variety of vendors.

If you have a medical condition that requires you to bring outside food or beverages in, please bring proper documentation with you to the security check-point at the main gate, all items will be subject to search.

Does the festival have a phone number?

The Festival Office can be reached at 517-267-1502. The office is staffed during all hours the Festival is in operation.

Can I get cash at the Festival? Are there ATMs?

ATM machines are located at the box office and near festival merchandise.

Can I bring a stroller for my child into the Festival?

Yes, strollers are accepted but are subject to search during security check at gates. For safety purposes strollers will not be allowed in the Standing Room Only areas of the Festival.

Is there a place that I can leave tickets for a friend to pick up later?

The Will-Call window is at the festival Box Office, located outside the Main Gate.  The Main Gate is located at Saginaw Avenue and the Lansing River Trail in the northeast corner of Adado Riverfront Park.  Please be sure to attend this Will-Call window first from outside Festival grounds for any Festival admission tickets to be picked up at “Will Call”.

Can I bring my service animal with me?

Yes, service animals are allowed, but pets are not allowed. A service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability.

Is Common Ground handicap accessible?

Yes. There are handicap accessible restrooms; a designated General Admission seating area at the main stage for handicapped patrons plus one companion; handicap parking is available on Shiawassee Street (between Grand Avenue and Capitol Avenue), and additional parking under the Lansing Center.

Are wheel chairs available at the festival?

A limited number of wheelchairs are available at the Main Gate entrance. There is no charge for usage, but a valid picture I.D. and/or driver's license must be left with the gate attendant. When the wheelchair is returned to the same gate it was obtained at, the I.D. will be returned.

What should I do if I lose my child inside the Festival?

If your child becomes lost inside of the Festival grounds, please notify a uniformed security officer, or a festival volunteer immediately. We will assist you.
