The Festival reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any person violating the festival, facility, local, state, or federal laws or policies, or whose conduct is deemed illegal, disorderly or offensive by management. Performers, programs, dates and times are subject to change without notice. Persons entering the facility may be subjected to searches for weapons, contraband, professional cameras, video equipment and recording devices or other items which are expressly forbidden on the facility premises and are subject to confiscation. Patrons entering the facility are subject to having their image and/or likeness reproduced for promotional and/or publicity purposes in Festival photography and/or webcasts by the Festival, contractor or partner of the Festival.

Where can I purchase my tickets?

ONLINE: www.commongroundfest.com/tickets IN PERSON: MON-FRI; 10AM - 6PM 901 N Washington Ave Lansing, MI 48906 DURING THE FESTIVAL: At the Festival Box Office, outside the main gate. The Main Gate is located at Saginaw Avenue and the Lansing River Trail in the northeast corner of Adado Riverfront Park. The Festival box office is open Wednesday, July 5th from 10am to 6pm and Thursday, July 6th - Sunday, July 9th from 10am to 10pm. Fans should use caution when considering purchases for any show they might attend at any event or concert.  Purchasing from a non-authorized person or outlet puts fans at risk of spending their hard earned cash for invalid tickets and credentials. The Common Ground Music Festival, in partnership with Eventbrite Ticketing, employs state-of-the-art scanning technology for festival entry & credentials. Only valid tickets will scan to authorize entry into the venue for an event. Lost or stolen tickets are deactivated and thus are not valid. Counterfeit tickets will also not scan. Purchasers who choose to buy from an unauthorized source, ticket broker or “scalper,” do so at their own risk.  

How much are tickets?

What does my admission include? Do I need separate tickets for two bands on the same night?

Your admission includes all performances on each festival stage for the day. (Special matinee performances, if any, may not be included)

Can I exchange my ticket(s) if I do not use them?

No refunds or exchanges including, but not limited to: failure of performer(s) to appear, changes in performer(s), or cancellation due to inclement weather.

What type of payments are accepted?

For ticket purchases online, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. For ticket purchases at the call center, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.  For ticket purchases at the festival office or at the festival gate, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and US Currency.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS. During the festival for food, beverages and merchandise, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and US Currency. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS.

Do you offer special pricing on tickets?

Sign up for our fan club the “Common Crew” HERE to receive special announcements and offers! Children under 6 are FREE when accompanied by a ticketed adult. There is special pricing for Children between 6-10 years of age. Please see the Tickets page (click here) for current ticket pricing. Each type and its supply are limited. Do you have "reserved seats"?

There is no reserved seating in 2017

At the Festival

What are the Box Office hours?

The Festival box office is open Wednesday, July 5th from 10am to 6pm and Thursday, July 6th - Sunday, July 9th from 10am to 10pm.

What are the hours of the Festival?

Gates times are as follows:
  • Thursday, July 6th: 4:00 PM
  • Friday, July 7th: 4:00 PM
  • Saturday, July 8th: 3:00 PM
  • Sunday, July 9th: 3:00 PM

Can I bring lawn chairs?

Yes. We recommend the popular "bag" chairs, however, your "bag" chair is also subject to being searched. You will be asked to place the front legs of your chair on the lines we paint on the grass for your convenience. This keeps the Festival seating organized, safe and enjoyable. We ask that you do NOT bring high back lawn chairs as they obstruct the view of your neighbors.

Can I bring a camera to the Festival?

Non-professional camera’s and cell & smart phones are allowed in the venue. No other audio/video recording devices are allowed. The Common Ground Festival defines professional cameras to be anything with a removable lens, and/or any camera with anything better than a 3x zoom capability, and/or any camera that is 10 mega pixels or better.

Can I bring food or drink into the Festival grounds?

No. No outside beverages or food of any kind is allowed. Once inside the Festival, you can purchase and drink from a variety of vendors.

Am I allowed to bring a backpack or purse into the Festival?

To provide a safer environment, Common Ground Music Festival has implemented a safe bag policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the festival grounds. The type of bag outlined below are those bags that are permissible:
  • Bags made of clear plastic, clear vinyl or clear PVC, which do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" in size.
  • One gallon (or smaller) clear ziplock bag.
  • Small clutch bags, 6" x 6" in size with or without a handle or shoulder strap is allowed.
  • Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis or medically required items during proper inspection at the entry line marked for inspection.
  • Chair bags are permissible. Chair must be removed from bag prior to inspection and entry.
Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to: purses larger than clutch bags, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, diaper bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than permissible size. Common Ground Music Festival reserves the right to alter carry-in policies at any time. Currently, the items that CANNOT be brought into the Festival include, but are not limited to:
  • Bags that do no comply to the clear bag policy listed above
  • Other carry-ins
  • Oversized umbrellas (golf umbrellas) or umbrellas with a pointed and/or metal tip
  • Outside food or beverages
  • Cans or glass bottles
  • Alcohol, Contraband
  • Pets (except service animals)
  • Selfie/GoPro sticks
  • Video equipment
  • Professional cameras
  • Recording devices
  • Laser pointers
  • Skateboards
  • Inline skates
  • Coaster wagons
  • Kites, Frisbees
  • Picnic baskets
  • Weapons of any kind

Once inside, can I leave and return later?

Yes. To exit and “re-enter”, go to the “re-entry/exit” queue at the main gate. You must have a valid daily wristband and your ticket must be scanned out before you exit. Upon re-entry, re-enter at the “Re-entry/exit” queue.  You MUST have your valid daily wristband AND your valid ticket to re-enter.

Is there a telephone number that I can leave for my babysitter?

In an emergency, they can call the Festival Office at 517-267-1502. The office is staffed during all hours the Festival is in operation.

Can I get cash at the Festival? Are there ATMs?

Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) machines are located on the festival grounds near the “Customer Lounge”. Other local ATMs are located:
  • Inside the Lansing Center at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Larch Street
  • Inside Lansing City Market on City Market Drive just off Cedar and next to Lansing Center
  • Quality Dairy at the corner of Saginaw and Larch
  • The Bank at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Washington

Can I bring a stroller for my child into the Festival?

Yes, strollers are accepted but are subject to search during security check at gates. For safety purposes strollers will not be allowed in the Standing Room Only areas of the Festival.

Is there a place that I can leave tickets for a friend to pick up later?

The Will-Call window is at the festival Box Office, located outside the Main Gate.  The Main Gate is located at Saginaw Avenue and the Lansing River Trail in the northeast corner of Adado Riverfront Park.  Please be sure to attend this Will-Call window first from outside Festival grounds for any Festival admission tickets to be picked up at “Will Call”.

Can I bring my service animal with me?

Yes, service animals are allowed, but pets are not.

Is Common Ground handicap accessible?

Yes. There are handicap accessible restrooms; a designated seating area at the main stage for handicapped patrons plus one companion; handicap parking is available on Shiawassee Street (between Grand Avenue and Capitol Avenue), and additional parking under the Lansing Center.

Are wheel chairs available at the festival?

A limited number of wheelchairs are available at the Main Gate entrance. There is no charge for usage, but a valid picture I.D. and/or driver's license must be left with the gate attendant. When the wheelchair is returned to the same gate it was obtained at, the I.D. will be returned.

What should I do if I lose my child inside the Festival?

If your child becomes lost inside of the Festival grounds, please notify a uniformed security officer, or a festival volunteer immediately. We will assist you.  

How do I participate?

If I want my band to participate in the Festival, where and when must I have the promotional material to Common Ground?

Submit your Band to the Common Ground Music Festival via:
  • Band submissions are closed for the 2017 Festival, check back in January for 2018 opportunities.

If I would like to be a vendor at Common Ground, what is the procedure I must follow?
