LYLE LOVETT BRINGS HIS LARGE BAND

Lansing, MI Officials announce that Lyle Lovett, who will be playing at the Common Ground Music Festival on Friday, July 11th, will be bringing his multi-talented “Large Band” to play crowd favorites.

  • “Lyle Lovett” is an American singer-songwriter and actor. A musician for seventeen years, his career includes twelve albums. He is a four time Grammy-Award winner for Best Country Album in 1996 for “The Road To Ensenada,” Best Pop Vocal Collaboration in 1994 for “Funny How Time Slips Away” with Al Green, Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal in 1994 for “Blues For Dixie” with Asleep At The Wheel and Best Country Vocal Performance, Male in 1989 with His Large Band. Lovett is known for songs like “Here I Am,” “She’s No Lady,” “Cowboy Man,” “Farther Down the Line,” “God Will,” “Why I Don't Know,” “Give Back My Heart” from the movie Toy Story, “You've Got a Friend in Me” (performed with Randy Newman) and many more. Lovett continues to produce original albums including his 2007 release, Lyle Lovett And His Large Band It’s Not Big It’s Large. Lyle and his Large Band always shake things up with an eclectic array of music styles incorporating country, folk, pop and big band swing. Lovett is one of the most distinctive and original artists to break into music, originally being billed a country artist, but shifting into an unknown genre with a large cult following. Members of his large band include some of the greatest in music history.
