COMMON GROUND MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES MORE TALENT

Lansing, MI Officials announce additional acts for this year’s Miller Lite Concert Series at the Common Ground Music Festival, which will be held July 7 - 13, 2008. The following artists will be performing throughout the festival week in Adado Riverfront Park:

* REO Speedwagon
* Trace Adkins
* Kellie Pickler
* Finger Eleven
* James Otto

The Common Card, general admission seven-day pass is on sale now and is only $85 in advance (and $95 beginning July 1st), while supplies last!

Single day general admission tickets will be on sale this Friday, April 25th. Individual, single day general admission tickets for Wednesday, July 9th, Thursday, July 10th and Sunday, July 13th are $26 in advance and $32 beginning July 1st. Individual, single day general admission tickets for Friday, July 11th are $34 in advance and $39 beginning July 1st.

NEW! Reserved nightly UPGRADE for the Capital City Airport WEST MAIN STAGE! Only $10 per night! No need to bring a chair, we have your spot reserved! With this upgrade, you get prime seating in the middle of the concert venue. The seats are located next to the sound mixing position, approximately 150’ from the front of the Capital City Airport West Main Stage. Feel free to roam the grounds and enjoy the entertainment and know that your seat will be waiting for you when you are ready to enjoy the show. The section includes approximately 150 seats nightly*. These reserved seats may be purchased as an upgrade to a nightly general admission individual ticket or, as an upgrade for the general admission multiple day pass (Common Card).

*You must have a ticket to be seated in this section; a ticket is required for everyone including Children 10 and under.

NEW! For Tuesday, July 8th, Zappa Plays Zappa and Friday, July 11th, Lyle Lovett in Concert, RESERVED single day ticket UPGRADE for the Pearle Vision EAST MAIN STAGE! Only $10 per night! No need to bring a chair for Zappa Plays Zappa on Tuesday and Lyle Lovett in Concert on Friday, at the Pearle Vision EAST MAIN STAGE! With this upgrade, you get prime seating for this specific performance at the Pearle Vision EAST MAIN STAGE. The first 11 rows of this performance will be reserved seating*. These reserved seats may be purchased as an upgrade to a nightly general admission individual ticket or, as an upgrade for the general admission, multiple day pass (Common Card).

  • “REO Speedwagon” With the release of their first studio album in more than a decade, REO Speedwagon, proves their legendary sound has staying power. Find Your Way Home was released in 2007 and influenced from a national headlining tour with both Journey and Styx. REO Speedwagon has toured every year since its inception in 1971 playing favorites including, “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” “Keep On Loving You” and “Take It On The Run.”

  • “Kellie Pickler” Against all odds, Kellie Pickler, released her debut album, Small Town Girl in October of 2006 and is showing no signs of slowing down. She was a finalist on American Idol: Season 5 and toured with the American Idols Live! Tour 2006 while writing her album. It produced various hits, including “Red High Heels,” “My Angel” and “I Wonder.” Most recently, she won all three CMT awards that she was nominated for including Breakthrough Video of the Year, Performance of the Year and Tearjerker Video of the Year.
  • “James Otto” Country singer and songwriter, James Otto, released his latest album Sunset Man last week and it is climbing the charts quickly. The album is southern rock meets big country and has a distinct sound which includes songs, “Ain’t Gonna Stop” and “Man That I Am.” Touring with the likes of Shania Twain and Big & Rich he is building a reputation as the biggest voice in country music.

  • “Finger Eleven” The five members of Finger Eleven collectively wrote and recorded over one hundred songs during the making of their fourth album, Them vs. You vs. Me. It was released in early 2007 and has produced many radio hits including their most well known, “Paralyzer.” The album is an eclectic mix of varying styles, ranging from rock to country to dance to funk.

  • “Trace Adkins” With the release of his latest album, American Man, Greatest Hits Volume II, Trace Adkins, has yet another success. The album includes smash-hits, “Honky-Tonk Badonkadonk,” “Songs About Me” and “Rough and Ready,” as well as four new songs including “I Got My Game On,” which just won the CMT award for Male Video of the Year. You may have also seen Trace Adkins on Celebrity Apprentice where he faired well and was a finalist, but lost the title to Piers Morgan.

The Common Ground Music Festival will be a seven-day celebration including nightly concerts, a variety of fun family entertainment and an assortment of food vendors.
