EASY ACCESS TO THE COMMON GROUND MUSIC FESTIVAL

Lansing, MI Officials announce the following routes to access the downtown corridor for the festival:

  • Motorists heading East from Saginaw should take Capitol Avenue. This will allow them to park at either the North Capitol or South Capitol Lots.

  • Motorists heading from the North should take MLK to Saginaw to reach Capitol Avenue. This will allow them to park at either the North Capitol or South Capitol Lots. You can also take MLK to Allegan to reach the South Capitol Ramp or the Grand Avenue Ramps.

  • Alternatively, Motorists heading South from the highway should take Michigan Avenue to Grand Avenue. Motorists heading South from Cedar Street should take Oakland to Capitol Avenue for the Capitol Avenue Ramps and take Cedar Street to Michigan Avenue for the North Grand Ramps.

  • Motorists coming from the East should avoid Oakland if possible and should take Michigan or I-496 to Grand Avenue. Alternatively, motorists could take I-496 to the Grand Exit and continue on St. Joseph to Walnut Street. Head North on Walnut to Allegan and then East on Allegan to Grand Avenue.

  • Motorists from the South should use MLK to Allegan to use the South Capitol, South Grand or North Grand Ramps.

  • Motorists coming from the North on Cedar Street/Larch Street should either continue north on Larch Street to Michigan Avenue or take I-496 to the Grand Avenue Exit.

  • Motorists from the West should take MLK to Allegan to use either the South Capitol Ramp or the South Grand Ramp.

  • The routes to avoid if possible are NB Grand Avenue, NB Larch Street and WB Oakland.

Please note, CATA will be running their normal routes and many of them lead into the surrounding festival area. For more information, please logo onto www.cata.org. The Common Ground Music Festival will be an eight day celebration including nightly concerts, a variety of fun family entertainment and an assortment of food vendors. Anyone interested in volunteering at Common Ground can contact the festival office at (517) 267-1502 ext. 202.
