COMMON GROUND MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES MORE BANDS
Lansing, MI— Officials announce great talent for this year’s Common Ground Music Festival, which will be held July 10 - 16, 2006. The following artists will be performing throughout the festival week in Adado Riverfront Park:

Tickets are on sale now! Individual, single day tickets for the Common Ground Music Festival are $25 before July 1, 2006. Beginning July 1, 2006 the individual, single day tickets will be $29. Single day tickets for the following shows are on sale as well:

Also, the Common Card, seven-day pass, is already on sale for only $79 before July 1, 2006. Beginning July 1, 2006 the Common Card will be $89. “Ladysmith Black Mambazo” Natives of South Africa, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, has been recording since 1970. Since their initial release they have recorded more than forty albums and sold over six million records establishing themselves worldwide as the number one selling group from Africa. Grammy Award winners, Ladysmith Black Mambazo convey the true sounds of Zulu harmony with their single, “Raise Your Spirit Higher.” They are also well-known for their instrumental work with Paul Simon on his album, Graceland.

“Cheap Trick” Around since the early seventies, Cheap Trick, has sold more than 17 million records with hits such as, “Dream Police,” “The Flame” and “I Want You To Want Me.” Cheap Trick’s latest release, Special One, has a diverse collection of songs that truly displays their talent as one of the greatest rock bands ever. Release of their much anticipated album, Rockford, is set for June 6 th, 2006.

“Mavis Staples” Rhythm and blues legend, Mavis Staples, has made her way by staying true to her gospel roots. Mavis was an original member of The Staples Singers, known for their hit, “I’ll Take You There.” As one of the most recognizable voices in music history, she has gained success worldwide and continues to do so nearly forty years later. Her latest album, Have A Little Faith, is a collection of songs reflecting her faith and spirituality. A true icon, Mavis Staples, is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and one of VH1’s 100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll.

“Hunter Brucks” Singer, songwriter and guitarist, Hunter Brucks, has made music his life. His most recent album, Driven, was released in April of this year and has been successful. Motorcity soul meets southern rock and roll is the best way to describe the music. Most recently, Hunter was asked to write and record music for the new motion picture “Escanaba In The Moonlight.”
The Common Ground Music Festival will once again be a multi-day celebration including nightly concerts, a variety of fun family entertainment and an assortment of food vendors.
