Bettye LaVette – July 8, 2009 Michigan native, Bettye LaVette has broken into the world of Blues earning multiple awards including: Living Blue's critic pick as "Best Female Blues Artist of 2004." LaVette is currently the reigning "Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year," and is nominated again in that category for the Blue Foundation's 2009 Blues Music Awards. In 2008, LaVette helped induct The Who as part of the Kennedy Center Honors. She performed with Jon Bon Jovi this past January at the Obama Inauguration.
