Several area businesses have come together to bring back these exciting golf events to benefit the Burcham Hills Foundation, which raises money to assist the Burcham Hills Retirement Community. Located near the West Sand Bar, both activities will be open all week long from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm.
Chip in at Two HOLE-IN-ONE Shoot-Outs
Returning for the ninth year, the Hole-In-One Shoot-Out is a chipping challenge for all ages. Step up to the banks of the Grand River, choose your club and take a shot!
Cost for each Hole-In-One Shoot Out is: 3 shots for $5 • 8 shots for $10 • 20 shots for $20Friday, July 11, GRAND HOLE-IN-ONE Shoot Out!WLAJ ABC 53 broadcasts the Shoot Out on live TV from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
- From 7:00 – 7:30 pm ten (10) MEN finalists (see General Rules) shoot for the GRAND Prize: a $20,000 automobile, underwritten and provided by Paradise Motors.
- Second Prize: $10,000 cash, underwritten by Highland Hills Golf Club.
- If there is no Hole-In-One, the closest to the pin on the green will win a $1,000 set of Mizuno Irons, donated by Mizuno USA.
- From 7:30 – 8 pm ten (10) WOMEN finalists (see General Rules) shoot for the GRAND Prize: a $20,000 automobile, underwritten and provided by Paradise Motors.
- Second Prize: $12,000 Savings Bond, underwritten by Fedewa Builders.
- If there is no Hole-In-One, the closest to the pin on the green will win $499.00 worth of Cedar Point & Michigan Adventure Tickets, donated by ABC 53 as well as two (2) $250.00 Michigan Golf Packages.
Sunday, July 13, The Irish Pub Bar & Grill HOLE-IN-ONE Shoot Out!
- Ten (10) new finalists (see General Rules) shoot for Irish Pub Bar & Grill gift certificates and prizes totaling $1,000.
- Finalists for the Sunday, July 13th, shoot out will be the ten (10) closest to the pin or the first ten (10) Holes-in-One daily from Friday, July 11th, through Sunday, July 13th.
- The first Hole-In-One wins the Grand Prize. If there is no Hole-In-One the closest to the pin on the green wins the Grand Prize.
- The Sunday night shoot-out winners will be awarded their prizes immediately! Practice shots can be from all four (4) tee boxes at the regular price that it cost to compete.
General Rules for the Hole-in-One Chipping Shoot-Outs
- Finalists for both the men and women’s Friday, July 11th, shoot out will be the ten (10) closest to the pin or the first ten (10) Holes-In-One daily from Monday July 7th through Thursday, July 10th.
- The finalists will each get one (1) shot. There will be no practice shots allowed the day of the competition from the official tee box to be used, paid or unpaid. Practice shoots will be allowed from the other three (3) tee boxes at the regular price that it costs to compete. If a Hole-In-One occurs, the winner will be awarded their prize approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks from the date of the contest.
- Only one (1) Hole-in-One prize will be paid and to the first person to receive a Hole-In-One during the shoot out.
- One witness is required who is a non-participant and at least 21 years of age.
- All attempts must be videotaped.
- The length from the tee box to the green will be at least 88 yards!
- A Hole-in-One must occur by a competitor who officially qualified and registered prior to the start of the tournament. Competitors must be insured under the correct designation as AMATEURS. AMATEURS are as defined in The Rules of Golf (Rules of Armature Status). As approved by the United States Golf Association (USGA).
